In October of this year, two Interreg projects joined forces in St Andrews, Scotland. Part of BLAST focuses on Integrated Coastal Zone Management, and how to use GIS maps in a beneficial manner aiding coastal spatial planners.

The Sustainable Coastal Development (SUSCOD) project aims at developing an ICZM assistant. This online tool should enable policy makers and other interested parties to apply ICZM in a way that fits their needs and regional challenges. Having the two projects work together proved to be fruitful, and both projects have stated they would like to continue the cross-project knowledge exchange.
